The Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) capped off its recent South Korea mission with a strategic dialogue with Ms. Anita Kim, key representative of a proponent aiming to establish a 250-megawatt Combined Cell Power Plant within the Freeport Area of Bataan (FAB).
Powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG), the ambitious project carries a total estimated cost of USD 700 million—USD 500 million earmarked for the power plant and another USD 200 million for a dedicated LNG storage facility.
During the meeting, AFAB pledged support for the project’s feasibility study, offering data and guidance to accelerate due diligence. In turn, Ms. Kim was invited to personally explore the FAB, highlighting its competitive edge and investor-friendly environment.
This forward-looking engagement underscores AFAB’s commitment to securing transformative investments in clean energy and infrastructure, fueling the Freeport’s path toward inclusive and sustainable growth.
